Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago technical recruiting agency that focuses on engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and technical sales recruitment and placement. Our client, a capital equipment manufacturer, seeks a talented sales professional for the following opportunity.

Position: Sales Engineer (Capital Equipment)

Summary:  Our client has been in business for over 40 years and is an industry leader.  They design and manufacture automated high-speed assembly and inspection machines.  Their expertise includes designs of rotary continuous motion and indexing machines.  They work with a wide range of industries: Medical Devices, Electronics, Consumer Products, Dispensing Pumps, Dispensing Closures, and Packaging.

Description:

  • This position will be responsible for selling machinery to customers, growing current business, and building relationships with existing and new customers.
  • 75% will be business development and 25% will be account management.  It will require 35% Domestic travel, and also being at the office the other amount of the time
  • Extras will include: company credit card, cell phone, and mileage reimbursement
  • Looking for someone who can be a “hunter” and solve the customers problems
  •  Read over contracts and find certain clauses or issues

Requirements:

  •  4-7 years or more of sales experience (preferably within engineering or technical sales)
  • College degree preferred
  • Flexible team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience selling to OEM’s/industrial type of accounts
  •  Strong technical background with long lead time sales experience
