Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago staffing agency that specializes in engineering, sales, manufacturing and technology recruitment and placement. One of our clients has an opening for a Technical Sales Engineer. This role involves developing and managing a current and future customer base in the Midwest. Will generate sales volume that meets organizational growth objectives for this plastic mold products company. Responsibiliites and requirements as follows:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for both existing and prospective customers as directed.
  • Make presentations to customers, make planned and organized sales calls, provide pre-sales technical information (customer and internal departments), and work the estimating department to assist in price negotiating to close on sales opportunities.
  • Develop and manage key account relationships to expand revenue opportunities within the organization.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts within customer base on a regular basis.
  • Achieve monthly sale quotas.
  • Provide post-sales support as needed.
  • Responsible for acquiring working knowledge and proficiency of customers products and applications so to match customer needs with suitable solutions.
  • Responsible for recording and maintaining contact database records, sales activity records.
  • Provide reports to the Sales Manager on a regular basis.


  • Open on degree but some technical training preferred.
  • 2 + years engineering or manufacturing experience in plastic  mold manufacturing or a plastic molding operation.
  • 2 + years direct selling experience with proven ability to develop new sales territory/customer base, and grow existing sales territory/customer base
  • Excellent plastic molding and mold build knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite software including MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior analytical skills combined with business judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a highly energized and fast-paced environment within a framework of constantly shifting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Requires minimal supervision.
  • Self motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and willing to learn and develop new skill sets as applicable
