Kappa Search, Inc., Chicago’s leading Staffing Agency, has an exciting Outside Sales / Business Development opportunity with a client who has been in business for almost a century.  We are looking for someone with a Mechanical Engineering background to sell highly engineered products, establish and grow relationships with various enterprise OEMs (Aerospace, Defense, Medical and Industrial) within the South Central U.S territory (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas).

OEM Key Account Manager


Position: Key Account Manager
Location: Dallas / Fort Worth, TX
Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 / year base + commissions




  • Develop and implement a rolling 3-year strategic business plan in accordance with our client’s Management’s goals and objectives.
  • Meet or exceed established market share and sales performance bookings targets for assigned Key Account customers.
  • Meet with 20-25 contacts per week, including developing principal contacts at designated key accounts and document all pertinent contact activity.
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Overview summaries to communicate significant field activities and record progress of critical customer programs.
  • Use CRM Activity Manager to daily plan, document and execute pertinent business activities (i.e., appointments, telephone conversations, quotes, sample requests, etc.)
  • Enter and keep updated a minimum of 80% of Key Account business in CRM’s opportunity manager (goal package = 80%).
  • Communicate marketplace activity to our client’s Product and Industry Management personnel. Identify “value enablers” for all designated Key Accounts and prepare proposals as required.
  • Timely submission of an annual goal-setting package to sales management – a critical component of which is a 2-year bookings forecast by P/N for all client Sales Management assigned accounts.

  • 50% – 70% Travel
  • Management Experience with strong people skills
  • Knowledge of Aerospace, Defense, Medical and Industrial OEM markets in the territory
  • 3-5 Years business experience. Display an understanding of top and bottom line business issues and impacts
  • Excellent sales, communication, presentation and listening skills.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to develop proficiency with various client software programs including CRM.
